LOL S15 new player daidian experience

League of Legends S15 season, several friends around me suddenly started playing saying they found streams entertaining. One week later each of them came to me with mental breakdowns, absolutely hilarious.

First friend picked top lane and immediately bought Fiora thinking she looks cool. Ten games later he got destroyed by Darius ten times and rage uninstalled. I told him new players should avoid mechanical champions, start with Garen or Malphite to learn laning fundamentals first. He didnt listen and insisted on Fiora, now hardstuck Silver 3.

Second friend was even more ridiculous, bought an account and jumped straight into ranked. Five placement games all losses, placed Bronze 2, mental boomed and wanted to find a daidian. I said you dont even know all the champions yet why are you looking for a daidian? The booster gets you to Gold, you play yourself and drop right back down, isnt that just wasting money? Plus the daidian market is super shady now, cheap ones might be using scripts and getting detected means your account gets banned.

League has a genuinely high entry barrier. Just learning over 100 champion abilities takes considerable time. My advice to new players: start with ARAM to learn champion abilities, then play normals to practice laning, go to ranked only when you feel you understand the game reasonably well. Before looking for a daidian ask yourself what are you trying to prove? If it is about proving your rank is high, what does a rank achieved by someone else have to do with you? Think clearly before deciding. Though if you just want the season reward skin and genuinely have no time, finding a reliable peiwan or daidian studio to help is reasonable too.
