Last month I almost quit Teamfight Tactics from tilt, an entire week stuck between 4th and 8th place. Watched countless guides, tried every composition, just could not get first place. Worst streak was twelve straight losses, almost uninstalled the game.

Then I met a peiwan master on the forum, paid him to coach me through several games, finally understood where I was going wrong. Biggest issue was my carousel selection was terrible. Previously I only looked at the champion, thought this unit looks strong so I take it. The peiwan master said carousel should prioritize items first, items are the foundation of your composition. If playing magic comp take Rod and Tear, physical comp take Bow and Glove.

Second issue was positioning. Previously I just lined up all my units in a single row. Actually positioning needs to adapt to opponents: against assassins your backline needs frontline protection, against mages your frontline should spread out to avoid AOE hitting too many units simultaneously. These are all small details but the gap between masters and beginners lies exactly in these details.

Third issue was timing for composition transitions. Previously I would commit to whatever I got early and ride it to the end, ignoring better options mid game. The peiwan master said flexibility is key, early game play flexibly to preserve HP, mid game decide final composition based on items and shop offerings. Now I finalize my composition direction after the fourth carousel.

Now I can consistently top 4 and occasionally get first. Even though I spent some money on the peiwan master, I genuinely learned things. Way better than grinding blindly by myself.
